A language assistance plan is vital to meeting the needs of your patient community, addressing malpractice and standard of care concerns, and ensuring legal compliance. Considering that one out of six US residents cite a language other than English as their primary language and that more than 24 million people (9% of US residents) rate their use of English as less than "very well,"[1] language assistance plans for hospitals are absolutely critical.

During this webinar, you will hear the language assistance plan experiences of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (VCUHS) as well as insights from a former Senior Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division; a recognized expert in compliance. You will also learn how to easily provide effective and equitable services to your Limited English Proficient (LEP) community, how language assistance can and should be provided, how to analyze and measure its effectiveness, and how staff can be trained on the proper use of language services.

In this webinar you will learn the benefits of a legally compliant language assistance plan, including how language assistance plans can provide significant benefits in hospital training, administration, planning, budgeting and business development.
