To ensure proper functionality of CyraCom’s Video Remote Interpretation service,
the following requirements must be met:
Computer Access
Our VRI services are available on any computer capable of streaming video. With
Polycom software and a web camera of reasonable quality, workstations can easily
turn into VRI stations.
Video Conferencing Unit
All Polycom video conferencing equipment is compatible with our video interpretation
solution. We currently do not support units from other manufacturers. We also offer
a custom-built video conferencing unit specifically designed for VRI.
Bandwidth
An internet connection with a minimum bandwidth of 512 kbps is required for calls
on all platforms. On shared networks, Quality of Service or other network prioritization
is necessary to ensure acceptable video quality.
Firewall
Our solution is based on H.323 communication. To allow video conferencing traffic
to pass in and out of your local network, you must allow the H.323 protocol suite
for outbound communications.
Mobility
Identify areas where a video conferencing unit will be used and ensure that network
ports are configured for internet access.
Testing
You can test your system to see if it can connect to our network, either through
Polycom® video conferencing equipment or by downloading the
trial version of Polycom’s® PVX software to your PC or laptop and connecting
from there. You can obtain the number to dial from your equipment or PVX software
by
contacting us.
