CyraCom, the leading provider of interpretation and translation services for healthcare,
has announced the upcoming release of a mobile application for connecting to a trained
medical interpreter. The application has been produced as part of CyraCom’s policy
of continual technology enhancement to increase added value for its clients.
Utilizing the most recent trends in mobile applications, CyraCom developed the software
for all versions of Android, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. This highly innovative
application incorporates a number of specific features created with healthcare professionals
in mind, including the ability to enter a Medical Record Number (MRN) for each interpretation
call.
Increasingly, hospitals use mobile devices for communication and to access information.
CyraCom’s mobile application follows this trend and allows medical staff to access
an interpreter the fastest way possible using their personal mobile devices.
CyraCom’s Chief Technology Officer, Chris Patten, discussed the mobile application,
stating, “We wanted to design a product that would further increase the quality
of care that our clients can offer to Limited English Proficient Patients. With
our healthcare clients in mind, we focused on increasing the efficiency and convenience
of requesting Over-the-Phone Interpretation. With this application, a medical staff
member could be walking down the hall, and after a few swipes, have an interpreter
call waiting for them as they walk into a room.”
The application is scheduled to be available for download, free of charge, in early
2011.
