CyraCom, the Tucson-based language services company, and The University of Arizona’s
National Center for Interpretation today announced a new collaboration to benefit
local Spanish/English healthcare interpreters.
The Center and CyraCom are cooperating in the development of advanced curricula
in an effort to provide local interpreters with the nation’s most advanced and comprehensive
training in the field of medical interpretation.
CyraCom provides scholarship funds to the University of Arizona’s National Center
for Interpretation to enable local interpreters to attend its week-long Medical
Interpreter Training Institute in July. Employment opportunities at CyraCom are
also presented to all graduates of Center programs. This collaboration represents
a first step in an ongoing effort to broaden opportunities for interpreters working
with both organizations.
An information and recruitment reception will be held July 15 from 5:30 – 7:00pm
in room 350 of the Modern Languages Building on The University of Arizona campus.
